Kira Keeney is the founder and lead designer of Living Lines Garden Designs, a Camas-based landscape design studio rooted in sustainability, ecology, and an appreciation for the natural world. Her work blends scientific knowledge, practical functionality, and a deep commitment to helping people build meaningful, reciprocal relationships with their landscapes.

Her journey began in 2004 on a landscaping construction crew, where she quickly rose to Foreman and developed a passion for botany, horticulture, and design. She spent her evenings studying university-level texts and experimenting with small design projects—early seeds of what would become Living Lines. After years of hands-on experience and mentorship, the business officially launched in 2013 and has since grown into a full-scale design practice known for thoughtful consultation, client education, and ecologically grounded solutions.

At the heart of her work is a belief in practicality, faithfulness to place, and the idea that well-designed gardens can strengthen community. She encourages every client to develop ongoing knowledge, confidence, and connection with the spaces she helps them create.

A Camas native and proud Papermaker, she is also a single mom who shares a long family history with the Camas School District—where she continues to split her time, just as her mother and grandparents did before her.

Outside the studio, she draws inspiration from the outdoors as an avid fair-weather camper, hiker, backpacker, and natural swimmer. When she can’t be outside, she can be found knitting, practicing wildcrafts like basketry, or tapping into her creative roots from past chapters spent directing children’s theater, singing in Estonian folk choirs, and performing in community musicals.

Clients often describe her as genuine, warm, quirky, enthusiastic, and deeply passionate about her mission: bringing people and their landscapes closer together through beauty, stewardship, and shared connection.
