Stone Garden Median

Another project that came to me by way of my partnership with Boulder Falls, the HOA for this upscale subdivision wanted to improve the visual impact of their outdated medians while keeping costs down. We settled on a design that simulated natural creekbeds (expertly brought to life by the crews at BF—what a difference good execution makes!) and took advantage of negative space and repetition with four seasons of interest. The strategic use of boulders symbolizes the neighborhood's permanence, evoking a sense of stability and timelessness. These gardens have much lower water and maintenance requirements and will stay low, improving sight-lines and traffic safety for the residents. I was invited back to redesign their grand entrance—stay tuned for pictures of that dramatic renovation to come!
